The ServiceNow User Congress which took place in May 2020 provided deep insights into the importance of being able to change business processes and workflows quickly during a crisis.

One of the highlights of the first week of the conference was the presentation by Eric-Stephan Neill, Enterprise Architect at printer manufacturer Lexmark. He demonstrated how Lexmark, using ins-pi's Designer and UPM-X, used its ServiceNow CMDB to provide a library of "digital assets". Static artifacts are transformed into dynamic objects through real live connections and relationships to one another.

In this way, Lexmark's digital asset team is able to directly link technology components with a "catalog" of business processes, activities, and tasks. This library is now being used to simplify processes, standardize workflows and raise awareness of technical debt. In the long term, the digital asset library should serve to offer the digital transformation internally as a service.
